A Sticky Issue

I had come to believe that today's generation is devoid of any good, old-fashioned hobbies. Having their attention taken up with Reality TV, and Tweeting, and listening to the Hippity-Hop Rap music, this generation would appear to be lost in a maze of mindless diversions. But I'm pleased to say that my initial judgment seems to have been premature.

It has come to my attention that a rather large segment of our young female population has indeed embraced a good, old-fashioned hobby. Apparently there is an explosion of these young, wholesome ladies who have been collecting stamps. And not just any stamps, but Tramp Stamps. And thus I'm doubly pleased to see that not only have they taken up such a hobby, but they've apparently focused on stamps of Charlie Chaplin, one of the great film stars. Thus, these young women have shown an affinity with a classic character, Chaplin's Tramp, as well as an appreciation for stamp collecting itself.

The time-honored hobby of stamp collecting is not only a positive diversion from today's often difficult realities, but it is also a good investment. As these girls engage in getting Tramp Stamps, they are embodying the very idea of possessing something that is attention-worthy. These stamps are good for procuring the attention of those who will want to take this body of work, and perhaps use it for their own advantage -- and this is what makes the free-market system work. And perhaps best of all, these ladies can be setting an example of something in which their own daughters can one day indulge. So to all the ladies out there, I encourage you to get your own Tramp Stamps. You'll love it, others who see your collection will love it, and one day your own daughters too can love it, as they carry on the tradition!
